We are very pleased to announce that Medavie EMS Ontario has been selected to provide land ambulance services in Elgin County, Ontario commencing January 1, 2014. These services will be provided through a new company called Medavie EMS Elgin Ontario (MEMSEO).

MEMSEO will cover 1800 km2 of geography serving a population base of 80,000 citizens and responding to more than 13,000 calls on an annual basis. It will continue to employ the over 85 full and part-time paramedics currently serving Elgin County. In addition, the existing management staff will also be joining the MEMSEO team to further support a seamless transition process.

Paula Poirier, President of Medavie EMS Ontario, will also assume the role of President for MEMSEO. Paula’s vast leadership experience in EMS provision and management will ensure that MEMSEO continually strives to exceed expectations and provide residents with high quality Emergency Medical Services.

The addition of MEMSEO to the Medavie EMS Group of Companies marks the establishment of a third land ambulance service in Ontario. We are excited to bring our expertise in EMS system design and management to Elgin County in order to better serve the communities in which we operate.
