Medavie HealthEd is seeking, qualified Primary Care Paramedics or higher, who may be interested in delivering simulation sessions as part of the Primary Care Paramedic program on a casual basis at our Yarmouth, NS campus.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Facilitators are responsible for the effective delivery of the simulation component of the Primary Care Paramedic program. This position is primarily responsible for the delivery of the simulation objectives, providing guidance to the students, the effective use of lab equipment/facilities, and the completion of simulation records for students. Additional duties may also include the completion of didactic lecture components.
RESPONSIBILITIES
There are general/program responsibilities that may include but are not limited to the coordination and preparation of all simulation training equipment, responding to student enquires, as well as inventory responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A Primary Care Paramedic diploma (or higher) from an accredited institution.
- A certificate in Adult education would be considered an asset. If successful candidates do not possess this certification, a specific course in adult education will be provided by Medavie HealthEd;
- A valid registration with the CPNS as applicable (or equivalent) is required.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience as an emergency services provider at the level of an PCP or higher is required. Candidates should be active in the provision of emergency services and have experience in managing a number of projects simultaneously.
Skills and Knowledge: Must possess a strong understanding of the knowledge and skills required by a Primary Care Paramedic. Must have the ability to work with the Microsoft office suite of products. Be creative, innovative and committed to lifelong learning, with an enthusiastic desire to teach. The ideal candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, as well as have strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
