Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta — Prairie EMS, a subsidiary of Medavie EMS, has received Qmentum accreditation from Accreditation Canada – the first private ambulance operator to do so in Alberta, Canada.

Accreditation Canada is an organization that sets the standards for health and safety in Canada and around the world, and Qmentum accreditation will provide Prairie EMS with the tools to focus on quality and safety throughout all aspects of services.

Over the past two years, Prairie EMS has been committed to the elaborate accreditation process to further provide the best-possible care to patients in communities across Northern, East Central Alberta and commitment to all-inclusive, safe and proficient operations.

“Attaining this level of accreditation would not have been possible without the dedication of our team throughout all levels of the organization,” says Tim Coolen, Prairie EMS President. “We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished through this process – further validating our commitment to comprehensive, safe and efficient operations and patient care.”

“My sincere congratulations to everyone at Prairie EMS for achieving Accredited with Commendation,” said Wendy Nicklin, President and CEO of Accreditation Canada. “This is a testament to their dedication to improving the quality and safety of care for the communities they serve.”

Through its long history of providing ground ambulance services, Prairie EMS has gained a strong understanding of patient transfer operations in Alberta and through its full accreditation, demonstrates an ongoing commitment to health, safety and the delivery of highest quality services.
